A LLANDRINDOD teenager has organised a concert as part of her fundraising efforts to take part in a volunteering trip to Patagonia.
Tegwen Bruce-Deans, a sixth form student at Builth Wells High School, will travel to the Argentinian province this October as part of an annual expedition designed to strengthen the cultural links between Wales and the Welsh-speaking parts of the South American country.
Tegwen has been an enthusiastic member of the Urdd since her primary school days in the Welsh Stream at Ysgol Trefonnen, Llandrindod, and is also the vice-chair of the youth committee of the Urdd National Eisteddfod.
She says that the concert, to be held in the Hotel Commodore at 3pm this Sunday, May 6, will be a great opportunity for young people who have qualified for the eisteddfod to further hone their performances before a live audience.
“This will be a great chance for the people of Brecon and Radnorshire to experience the strength and depth of performing talent amongst our young people. We already have some talented musicians lined up, including several students of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama,” she said.
Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for children, or anyone who would like to add a donation online can do so at: www.gofundme.com/patagonia-2018-tegwen
