A road between Newtown and Kerry that has been closed for 10 days will re-open on Friday, April 27 at 12 noon.

The A489 has been closed on either side of Lower Brimmon Farm since Monday, April 16 while complex bypass works including resurfacing the road and building a new roundabout have been carried out.

The improvements were scheduled to take two weeks, but good weather has meant the road will be able to open slightly earlier than originally planned.

Gail Jones of Alun Griffiths Contractors said: "We are extremely proud of the hard work, effort and determination of our ground staff, and to you all, for the patience and understanding that you have shown us during the road closure."
