DO YOU know who is the only ‘Llani boy’ to have played football at Wembley? Or which Llandinam-born Daff equalised George Best’s goal in a Northern Ireland v Wales game in the sixties?
Llanidloes Town FC have released a quiz book, named ‘101 things you might know about football in Llani’, written by ex-players Byron Hughes and Lyn Meredith.
The winner of the individual prize gets a Llanidloes Town FC season ticket 2018/19 and the team entry winners will become guests of honour at a game of their choice for up to 10 people with a £50 complimentary bar tab and buffet food.
If you have what it takes to take up the challenge, you can request a copy from Woosnam & Davies News or from Llanidloes Town FC on matchdays for £1. Entry deadline is Monday, April 30.
Lyn said: “It’s a part of club history. To be honest, it’s a bit tongue in cheek but we take pride in our football club. If you’re a Llani Town FC fan, you should probably know the answers and it’s also a piece of club memorabilia. We’re one of the oldest clubs in Wales and we’re still going strong. Thanks go to Rob Hughes from wax(works) for the lovely design.”
