A music and poetry duo have just released “Listening for the Place” – an album of original poetry and music.
Neil McKeown, a poet, and Rick Wilson, percussionist and musician, have got together to offer twenty two varied pieces, ranging from the title track, through the tribute poem, “Welsh Roofer”, to the reminiscent ”The Sixties”.
There are also many shorter pieces, including haikus, and Rick's Indian based sounds on “Churning”. Rick and Neil believe that they have put together an interesting and original album.
Recorded at Llansilin, the duo are members of the Oswestry poetry band Improetry.
Rick also runs regular drumming workshops at Oswestry's independent arts centre, Hermon Chapel.
