IN many parts of Powys the big freeze is over and the snow is thawing, but some drivers are still having difficulty getting round due to the inclement conditions.
This morning drivers in the hills around Newtown were surprised to find their way blocked by an Heavy Goods vehicle, stuck in the snowdrifts that have not thawed yet.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "We were called to assist with a lorry that had become wedged between two snow banks on Upper Dolfor Road at around 7.30am.
"The location was around a mile from the Kerry end of the road.
"The vehicle was freed by 8.20am."
