Hi, how are you today and what exciting place are you currently hanging out in? -- Hey, fine thank you. Currently I’m chilling in sunny Bermuda, enjoying some off time.

You’re on a pretty mammoth US tour at the moment, hopping over the pond to pay BoomTown Fair a visit in the middle. Have you played any UK festivals before? -- Yes! I’ve played numerous festivals in the UK and Europe! I actually liked Nottinghill Carnival a lot though. It was vibessss.

What in particular are you looking forward to about BoomTown Fair, have you heard much about what you’ve let yourself in for? -- Judging by the line up I can tell it’s no joke! I’m excited to perform alongside greats like Gentleman and Richie Spice!

How do the UK crowds compare to those in the US? -- UK crowds have a vibrant energy. They’re always in tune with Reggae culture and appreciate every moment.

In England reggae music’s going through a bit of a revival, is the same true in the US? Do you find more people are interested in reggae music than say ten years ago? Do you get to hear much from the UK reggae scene? -- Most definitely! Our Spring tour was amazing, a lot of new fans and fresh faces! In certain markets we had an overall younger audience which kind of threw me off lol

You appeared on Snoop Lion’s recent album Reincarnated. How did that come about and what was it like? -- My manager, Dino set that up. Funny thing is, I had the riddim for a couple years lol. I recorded a verse and had it sitting in the studio, then I heard Snoop liked it and the rest was history. It was an honor to work with him. He’s a legend in every sense.

What are you working on at the moment? Is there a new album of your own on the way anytime soon? After your tour of course... -- Yes! I recently built a new studio near my radio station and I’ve been locked in there ever since lol. We have a bit of everything on the album.

What releases are you looking forward to seeing hit the shelves this year? -- I’m actually looking forward to Drake and Big Sean’s albums.

You’ve collaborated with a load of artists in your time, with some pretty big names among them. Who would you most like to collaborate with next? Any of them performing at BoomTown? (see below for full line up…) -- I would actually love to do a chune with Gentleman. He’s a phenomenal artist with a unique voice and powerful messages.

What do you most want to have achieved by the end of this year? -- Truthfully I just want to work on being a better artist. Performance wise we’ve made strides and built an amazing set. While on the production side I’d like to continue experimenting and perfecting my sound.
