Llanidloes came alive on Saturday as the crowds turned out in force to celebrate the town’s carnival.
People of all ages lined the streets to watch the procession, led by Newtown Silver Band, make its way through the town before an afternoon of fun in the sun ensued at the football field.
Floats included the carnival queen Olivia and her attendants, visiting queens, two Hen Dos, school groups and Willy Wonka, while carnival-goers young and old donned their finest fancy dress costumes.
A carnival committee spokesperson said: “What a wonderful day we had! So great to see a wonderful turnout for the procession – both those dressing up and spectators.
“I think you would all agree that the procession and all of the effort put into the lorries and costumes was one of the best yet.
“And the attendance down at the field was spectacular – we hope you all had fun.
“We have to thank a lot of people for their help but we will do that personally to each of you, but a big thank you from us all on the committee.
“So again, thank you to all who came out to support us this year – we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you Llani.”
