GB Liners Marches Lge

BUILTH Wells endured a day to forget with an 82 run defeat at bottom of the table Dales in the first division of the GB Liners Marches League.

Opener Jack Rowsell laid the foundations for the hosts until his departure, snared LBW by Dylan McPhee (4-65) for 34 with Rob Wall (3-55) maintaining the pressure.

However Russell Palmer revived the Dales middle order with a commanding display, including 14 fours and three sixes before being caught by Sam Williams off Aled Powell (2-33) for a top scoring 91 with his side all out for 235.

Williams led the Builth reply until being caught by Adrian Gore off Chris Breeze (4-38) for 37.

Paul Rowe looked to revive the middle order alongside Kevin Hall until the latter was snared LBW for 21 by Ian Jones (3-20).

Rowe was caught by Michael Batson off Alfie Stanik (2-8) for a top scoring 40 as the Bulls were dismissed for 153 in the 32nd over.

Presteigne also suffered a heavy loss, crashing by eight wickets at home to Ross in division two.

Andrew Tingle (5-28) dominated the bowling with support from Jack Donovan (2-6) and Chloe Tingle (2-9) ensuring Presteigne’s dismissal for just 77 with Mark Oglethorpe (19) top scoring.

Opener Stuart Mair top scored with a knock of 31 to guide Ross to the brink of glory in reply before Donovan (17no) finished the job in the 25th over with the visitors 80-2.

Builth Wells IIs were also on the wrong end of an eight wicket defeat in division three as Hereford Strollers left Garth Road triumphant.

Steve Anderson (58) top scored for the Bulls but Alex Carter (5-13) and Dan Powell (4-40) ensured the hosts fell for 129.

Richard Lerego (30no) carried his bat in reply and was joined by Paul Sheridan  (41) and Powell (45) in guiding Strollers to 131-2 and glory in the 27th over.
