VIGILS for the capital after the latest terrorist attack in London on Saturday were held throughout the county on Tuesday, June 6.
Seven people died as a result of the attack and 48 have been injured.
In the attack, three suspects hit pedestrians with a van on London Bridge before exiting the vehicle and attacking people with knives.
Mayor of Welshpool, Councillor Steve Kaye, wants to see a united response from Westminster.
He said: “I think it’s most important that we stand together. Unfortunately here is not much we can say, this is happening far too often.
“We have got to be united and show them they are not going to weaken our resolve.
“I don’t care about the election at all. I think they need to get together and have a cross party talk about the security of Great Britain.
“I hope and I pray there is not another vigil next week.
“I hope this is the last one I have to do as mayor except the one in November when we remember the war.”
