WELSHPOOL Rugby Club under 13s ended plate runners-up at the South Wales Rugby Challenge in Whitland last month.
Pool were the surprise package of the opening day, prevailing triumphant in two of their five matches with victories over Dublin based St Marys College and Monmouth and a draw against Whitland.
Pool met Whitland again in the plate final, ending runners-up following a battling display.
Coach Barry Williams said: “We were very pleased with how the boys played throughout the weekend, they gave their all, gained a lot of respect from the sides they played, and exceeded all expectations we had for them.
“The boys conducted them selves well on and off the pitch, and were a credit to the club and to the town.
“The touring experience is something that can have a hugely positive effect upon young players, and we would like to thank all the companies and organisations that aided us in our fundraising.”
