A person has died after being struck by a train.
The incident happened shortly after 8am on Thursday morning at the Llandre level crossing, between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.
A statement from British Transport Police reads: "Officers have been called to Llandre level crossing in Wales following reports that a person was struck by a train. The alert was made shortly after 8am.
"BTP are on scene alongside paramedics and Dyfed-Powys Police however a person has sadly been pronounced dead. Officers are now working to identify the person and inform her family. "
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
