WALKERS are being warned that walking trails in Powys have been affected by the recent severe flooding.
The Severn Way Recreational Trail and the Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail are both hazardous due to flooding, Powys County Council has said.
The section of public footpath shared by both trails between Pool Quay and Llandrinio is also almost impassable due to the River Severn breaching its banks.
Llandrinio Bridge, which the carries the Severn Way, is closed for the foreseeable future.
Cllr John Powell, cabinet member for countryside services, said: “We are advising walkers and the public not to venture along the section of the trails in this part of the county.
“Users of the Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail are being advised to get on the Montgomery Canal towpath at Buttington Wharf and head north to re-join the route of the trail at Four Crosses.”
