Prestatyn Town 4

Guilsfield 2

GUILSFIELD’S forgettable campaign continued to peter out as champions Prestatyn Town hit back for victory at Bastion Road.

Whether the champions, saved from financial oblivion by a fans bail out earlier in the season, will pass Welsh Premier criteria remains in question though few can contest their dominance on the field.

However it will the villagers who led when Adam Jenkins was tripped in the box by Mike Parker with Jake Cook converting from the spot for an 11th minute lead.

The Guils lost defender Robbie James to a head injury soon after with the hosts capitalising on 28 minutes with Jack Lewis steering home from close range.

The Seasiders pulled away to establish a two goal lead before the break with Noah Edwards lashing home from 18 yards before Alec Williams scrambled a third on 38 minutes.

Prestatyn looked to settle the contest with Williams and Jack Kenny going close early in the second-half but Guilsfield weathered the storm and reduced the arrears with 15 minutes remaining with Chris Cathrall firing beyond home goalkeeper Carl Jones.

However Prestatyn signed off their home campaign with a fourth at the death with Joe Newell crafting a chance for Lewis to notch his second of the day.

GUILSFIELD: Littleford, Bromley, Cathrall, Ford, Litchfield, James, Rogers, Jones, Cook, Irvine, Jenkins. Subs: Richards, Barton, Lloyd.
