Swalec Division Threes
A BRAVE Rhayader display went unrewarded in a 24-19 defeat at Bettws in division three East D of the Swalec League.
Despite travelling with just 13 men the Radnorshire belied their lowly league placing with a whole hearted display which yielded tries for Eugene Sadie, David Price and Jordan Smith with Alex Clarke kicking two conversions.
However it proved insufficient for the visitors as their Gwent hosts survived a tense finale to claim glory.
Meanwhile Llandrindod Wells’ division three east central B campaign ended with a 36-10 defeat at Cathays with Richard Watkins and Will Powell crossing for unconverted consolation tries.
