TNS host Carmarthen Town on Saturday (2.30) with manager Craig Harrison urging his players to seize their moment with one eye on completing another treble.

Despite the Saints slipping to only their second league defeat of the season at Gap Connahs Quay in midweek the runaway league champions have not had to wait long to return to action.

The Saints also have a JD Welsh Cup semi-final against Quay Connahs Quay the following week and a chance to exact revenge for their midweek defeat.

Harrison will rotate his squad for the remainder of the league campaign with the onus on JD Welsh Cup glory and ensure a third successive domestic treble rather than exacting revenge on Carmarthen for their defeat last month.

Harrison said: “We’ve got all 24 players which couldn’t have come at a better time with a busy league programme and a huge cup semi-final at the start of next month

“I think the fact there’s a semi-final coming up is more motivation for the players than the fact it’s Carmarthen Town coming up to our place on Saturday.

“The motivation will be that a week later there’s a Welsh Cup semi-final  and there’s an opportunity to play in that. The Welsh Cup is a tough one for me as you are allowed only five subs, whereas I’ve got seven in the Premier League.

“There are four people who will be left out of the squad completely and be unhappy about it.

“I’ll give everyone the opportunity to stake their claim and I’ll pick the team for the semi that I think deserves to be there.

“It’s a great opportunity and there’s no players on the beach as there’s huge games to come to make my mind up for European competition this summer.”

Goalkeeper Paul Harrison and defender Chris Marriott have returned to fitness following injury to press their claim for starting berths this weekend.
