TNS travel to Carmarthen Town on Saturday knowing the title could be sealed with a point.

Should Gap Connahs Quay fail to beat Bangor City tonight (Friday)  the Saints would need just a point to secure the Dafabet Welsh Premier title with eight games remaining.

Saints coach Craig Harrison refused to put any additional pressure on his players with the title now within striking distance.

“It could be an unbeaten season, but the main thing is  winning the league as soon as possible,” said Harrison who was unhappy with his side’s display against Cardiff Met last week.

“It was a good game, certainly for the neutral, but maybe not for me,” said Harrison. “It was a bit too open and I thought we could have controlled it a bit more, but that’s the way the game goes some times.”

With the Saints scoring goals for fun, Harrison admitted being defensively solid against a Cardiff team determined to attack was a positive.

Harrison said: “We’ve got aims and objectives and one of them is to keep as many clean sheets as we can.”

Harrison expected another tough test at Carmarthen but backed his side to come home with the points.

Harrison said: “Carmarthen beat Gap Connah’s Quay and that goes to show they are a good team. They’re fit and their manager has them tactically very switched on.

“They’ve always got a game plan and they know they have to do something different if they’re going to win games like this. It’s going to be a hard test.”
