“Around 1,200 people were there for the rally and about 1,000 went last year so it was a great turn out. The weather was on our side too.

“Congratulations to all the clubs that competed, to the winners Dyffryn Tanat and Berriew, and Sarn who came third.”

The Montgomery YFC County Rally saw a day of competitions involving young farmers from across the county coming together to compete on behalf of their clubs in more than 40 competitive classes.

Competitions included woodwork, shearing, stock judging, cookery, floral art and a range of performances.

The day also included a range of trade stands and chances for members of the public to get involved.

On the day, all YFC clubs in Montgomery were competing against one another for various awards and trophies, at the end of which all the points were added up to decide who was ‘Rally Champion’.

The rally’s committee is comprised of YFC members from: Sarn, Llanfair Caereinion, Berriew, Guilsfield, Four Crosses and Caradog.

Organisers send their thanks to hosts Moreton and Mandy, The Drefor, also to sponsors, judges, stewards, the organising committee and everyone who made the day such a huge success.
