NEARLY £3,000 has already been raised for Cancer Research UK following of last Sunday’s 10th annual Talgarth Tractor Run with more than 50 tractors taking part.

Organised by the Defynnog Vintage Society under the steering hand of Brian Kite, the run started at Talgarth car park with the Mayor Andy Lord on hand to greet the drivers and wave off the tractors on their run touring Breconshire and South Radnorshire.

The route took them down through Three Cocks to Glasbury over the Wye bridge and up through the lanes over the Begwyns towards Painscastle.

At the dinner stop at Erwood Village Hall, the Society’s chairman Merveyn Prosser conducted the raffle and guess the weight of the cake competition before he announced that nearly £3,000 had been raised for the chosen charity.

The final figure will be announced after the Chinese auction and presentation night.
