Prestatyn Town 1
Llanfair United 4
LLANFAIR United caused one of the greatest shocks in Huws Gray Alliance history with victory at Prestatyn Town.
Just three years ago the hosts represented Wales in Europe while United were in the second division of the Mid Wales League but a stylish display at Bastion Gardens showed history counts for nothing.
United snatched a 10th minute lead when Tom Kemp put through his own net and just five minutes later doubled their lead with James Davies netting.
Prestatyn bid to get back into the game with James Stead forcing goalkeeper Lee Andrew into a top drawer saved before United all but settled the game by half-time with Luke Gethin netting.
Prestatyn laid siege in a bid to get back into the game with United twice grateful to the woodwork before Paul Griffiths set-up summer signing Joe Vaughan to net his side’s fourth on 67 minutes
Most of the 220 supporters had already left for home when Stead netted an 84th minute consolation that came too late to prevent United celebrating the most famous victory of their history.
