ADRIAN Foulkes starred with bat and ball as Llanidloes completed a resounding 10 wicket win over Ludlow IIIs in division three of the Shropshire League.

Foulkes (3-43) was joined by Russell Swallow (3-28) in completing Ludlow’s dismissal for 173, with Rob Genner (88no) offering the only resistance, along with early support from Kevin Boulton (37) and Steve Small (20).

Llanidloes patiently went about their business in reply and posted 175 without loss, in the 30th over, as Foulkes (93no) and Geraint Evans (70no) completed victory.

However Llanidloes IIs were on the receiving end of a 131 run defeat at Much Wenlock IIs in division five.

Matthew Green (30), Alex Starr (32), Jake Hatton (28) and Toby Jones (21) chipped in before Owen Trotter (70) saw the hosts to 227 to defend, with Ed Denham (4-46), Stephen Lacey (2-55) and Ioan Swallow (2-27) taking multiple wickets.

However a disappointing reply ended with Llanidloes all out for 96 inside 20 overs, with only Gerrard Owen (31) offering any prolonged defiance, as Oliver Shires (4-20) and Green (2-6) ensured the visitors went home empty handed.
