The RSPCA is appealing for information after two cats were found abandoned in a plastic box in Welshpool.
The male white and female ginger cats were found in the Oldford Lane area of the town on July 12. One of the animals is being treated for cat flu and both cats are now in RSPCA care.
RSPCA inspector Phil Lewis said: “This is yet another depressing example of irresponsible pet ownership. We are coming across dumped cats on a daily basis, and not only are people showing a flagrant disregard for their animals, they are also adding to the financial burden faced by the RSPCA and other animal welfare charities.
“We appeal to the public to help find the person responsible.”
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the RSPCA cruelty and information line on 0300 123 8018. Calls will be treated in confidence.
