AROUND 20 jobs in Knighton have been axed after one factory closed and another let staff go.

The doors to Offas Industries, on the Knighton Enterprise Park, shut leaving around 12 people out of work.

And Benson Heating, based on Ludlow Road, told eight of their employees that they were going to be let go.

Neither company was available for comment.

Roger Williams MP said: “Benson’s is an established company in Knighton and I’m disappointed that it has had to lose some jobs, but I’m encouraged that it has been able to keep going and hopefully can generate jobs again in the future.”

Knighton Mayor, Christine Branford said that the job losses were 'terrible' news for the town.
