A JOINT public inquiry is to be held into planning applications for two Mid Wales windfarms.

Powys County Council objected to proposals for Llanbadarn Fynydd Windfarm and Carnedd Wen Windfarm earlier this year.

That move has forced the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to call a public inquiry into both applications.

DECC announced that the inquiry would be take place on its website earlier today and it is expected to begin in Spring 2013.
