A HILL-top beacon near you will be lit between 10pm and 10.30pm tonight, as part of a national chain of beacons commemorating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Knighton, Montgomery, Llanidloes, Trefeglwys, Rhayader, Newbridge on Wye and Leighton are just some of the places which can expect to see a firey beacon on a hill nearby.

A day-long celebration picnic will be held at Powis Castle, Welshpool, from 11am-5.30pm today featuring a special on-screen appearance by Wallace and Gromit in their Jubilee themed short.
