CONWY UNITED have signed up former Chester City and Vauxhall Motors striker Chris Herbert as their new manager.
Former Rhyl assistant boss Herbert, who impressed while working on a tight budget at Welshpool in the 2010/11 season, said he was delighted to take up the opportunity to manage the Musselmen.
"I am delighted that I have been offered the job as Conwy manager, it was a opportunity I couldn't let pass me by," he said. "The ambitions that the club have are very exciting, and I want to be part of that.
"The work on building the team and coaching staff starts today, I'm excited about the challenges ahead, and really hope we can get the local community on board with us as we go into a new era at the club."
Chairman Geoff Cartwright said: "We have spoken to some very good candidates but we were unanimous in our decision to appoint Chris. He is a young manager with a great amount of enthusiasm and personality and has proven contacts for player recruitment."
Rhos United are looking for an assistant to work with manager Ben Wheeler.
