A RHYL woman was left seeking answers after spotting strange lights in the sky.
Kirsty Garratt said she and her children were shocked by the appearance of a triangular shape in the dark above the town on Friday at about 9pm.
The 28-year-old stay at home mother, said: “I want to find out if there were any other sightings over Rhyl, as otherwise it sounds a bit mad.
“We were coming back from visiting the kid’s granddad with my friend when we saw it. It was hovering over Rhyl Golf Club.
“I thought it was a police helicopter, but then it got a lot closer, which was strange. We stopped and got out of the car - I didn’t think to get my phone out, as I didn’t think anything of it.”
Kirsty said she and everyone present saw a big aircraft shaped like a triangle with a light at every point.
She said: “It was totally silent. I joked to the kids - oh, it’s the aliens!
“As soon as it went over quite slowly it shot off really fast.
“You could see the outline - it looked a dark grey. I thought it was odd, as there was no noise coming from it.
“It was heading toward Prestatyn and Meliden way, very low.”
“I’d like to know what it was, if it was an army thing. It’s quite scary really.”
The MOD declined to comment on the sighting, while RAF Valley staff, who normally post night flight and low altitude flight test schedules online to alert residents, have not yet confirmed whether they performed manoeuvres near the Rhyl coast on the night in question.
