TRIBUTES have poured in for two young men killed in a horrific crash on the Horseshoe Pass.

Coleg Llysafsi students Johnathan Cassidy-Jones and Dale Williams, both 18 and from Ruabon, were killed when the car they were travelling in left the A542 near Llangollen on Monday, January 9.

Emotional messages have been flooding in and photos of the teenagers have been posted on social networking sites as friends and family come to terms with the consequences of the tragic accident.

Flowers have also been left at the crash site (pictured far right)  along with a motorbike helmet - due to Johnathan and Dale’s love of motorcycling, and an Everton football shirt.

Tributes were also made by Coleg Llysfasi where Dale was studying forestry and Jonathan machinery.

“Everyone involved at Coleg Llysfasi part of the Deeside College group of colleges is devastated to hear about the tragic deaths of Dale and Johnathan,” said a spokeswoman for the college.

“They were both well liked and talented students hoping to embark on exciting careers after they had completed their courses.

“This is a very tragic accident with the loss of such young lives.

“All of our thoughts are with their family and friends at this very difficult and sad time.
“Our thoughts are also with our third student Tom injured in the same accident and we are all wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

“We will be working closely to support our students at Coleg Llysfasi in the coming days and weeks as they come to terms with the tragic loss of their friends.”

Paying tribute to Dale on Facebook, Nathan Hayward wrote: “I still can't believe you've gone mate.

“You’re one of a kind mate.

“I'm going to miss you as are a lot of people, goodbye pal.”

Jessica Leighton said: “You'll be proud of how everyone’s sticking together and I hope you can see just how much you were loved.” James Joshua Robertson wrote: “Just left your nan and grandad’s, went to see your mum and dad.

“They are so, so proud of you mate, we all were.”

One of the many tributes left at the scene said: “I can’t actually believe that two amazing lads have been taken from us... Gone but never forgotten.

“Rest in peace, sleep tight lads.”

Tom Pewtner, also 18 from Ruabon, survived the crash and was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact PC Aled Jackson by telephoning 101.

Johnathan’s funeral will be held on Thursday (January 19)  at St Mary’s Parish Church, Ruabon, at 1pm., followed by burial within the churchyard and a wake at the Wynnstay Arms, Ruabon.

Dale’s funeral will also be held at St Mary’s Church on Friday (January 20) at 11.30am, followed by cremation at Pentrebychan Crematorium.

At both funerals there will be family flowers only, with donations to be given to the Wales Air Ambulance.
