A RECIPE from a chef at The Checkers in Montgomery has been used as part of a new Welsh cookbook which showcases Wales’ best recipes.
The dessert Agen prune soufflé with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce will be included in the Relish Wales book launched last week, courtesy of the Michelin star holding restaurant.
28 of the best chefs in Wales celebrated the launch of this 300-plus page hardback book. Chefs travelled from all areas of Wales to come together and share the success of the book despite a busy lead up to Christmas.
Relish Wales offers a flavour of the region through signature recipes provided by chefs from the best restaurants, inns and hotels across the country.
The glossy, hardback book features 84 exclusive recipes – a starter, main and dessert from 28 restaurants – plus a handy larder guide to the best local suppliers.
The chefs featured and some of their recipes can be viewed on the Relish Restaurant Guide – www.relishpublications.co.uk
Teresa Peters, one of the partners behind Relish Publications, said: “We published previous versions of the cookbook for: Cumbria, Scotland, Yorkshire, North East England, Manchester and Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire, and are excited to come to Wales, as there are so many amazing places to choose from.
“We’ve uncovered some hidden gems in every area and Wales is no exception – the contributors really are a culinary who’s who of Wales.
"We have included some fantastic recipes from a selection of the country’s finest chefs and hope readers try these dishes at home then visit the restaurants and see how the experts do it.”
Relish Wales is priced at £17.50 and is vailable in high street bookshops such as Waterstones and WH Smith or online at www.amazon.co.uk or www.relishpublications.co.uk
