Llandudno Travelodge go-ahead

PLANS FOR a Travelodge can go ahead in Llandudno.

Conwy County Borough Council planners had been advised to refuse planning permission because of architectural concerns with new designs which included a five-storey extension next to a three-storey terrace.

But councillors gave the go-ahead after developers Hawkwell Properties submitted revised plans which addressed many of the concerns.

They also decided that, despite some reduction in sunlight to kitchens and bedrooms in properties surrounding the development, the benefits of the proposal to the physical and economic regeneration of the town centre outweighed the loss in daylight to the flats.
