Caersws 3 Conwy United 2

THE MUSSELMEN lost out for the second time this season at Caersws going down to three headed goals after their Welsh Cup penalty exit last month.

Injury hit United, who lost top scorer Mike Lundstrum to Welsh Alliance side Bethesda Athletic this week, almost took the lead through Paul Cassidy, who was denied by the home keeper.

The save proved vital as the hosts then took the lead with Neil Mitchell heading in from point blank range.

Conwy got back on level terms as Joe Jennings was felled in the box, Joe Williams netting the penalty but Mitchell quickly restored Caersws’ lead.

Chris Quinn nabbed a superb equaliser, lobbing the keeper from the byline, but another header sealed the points for Sws.
