WELSHPOOL fell silent on Sunday to remember the nation’s war dead.
Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch the parade as both the young and old bowed their heads to remember the countless servicemen and women who laid down their lives in all conflicts since the First World War.
Welshpool Town Clerk Robert Robinson said: “Everything went fantastically well. As far as I’m aware it was one of the biggest parades in Welshpool ever.
“The whole event was a tremendous working effort between the Welshpool branch of the Royal British Legion and Welshpool Town Council.
The town council laid a new wreath this year to remember the women killed during the war, while Montgomery Voice for Animals laid a wreath dedicated to the animals killed during the wars.
