GUILSFIELD’S late onslaught failed to yield its rewards as nine man Llandudno held on for victory.

A bizarre series of events saw Llandudno reduced to nine men with eight minutes remaining, with Ross Rule and captain Sean Eardley both sent-off for dissent.

Rule had given Llandudno a 12th minute lead after latching onto a speculative throughball from Paul Roberts.

Just three minutes later, Dave Littleford’s attempted clearance cannoned off Lee Thomas who ran the loose ball into an empty net.

Guilsfield began their fightback on 20 minutes with Will Thomas expertly despatching a penalty, after Gareth Jones was fouled in the area.

On half an hour Guilsfield were level with Ian Probert’s long ball causing goalkeeper Tom Bainbridge to hesitate with Thomas capitalising.

Llandudno started the second-half on top with Roberts immediately forcing Littleford into action.

Moments later Lee Thomas swung over a left-wing cross for Dean Seagar to volley home from close range.

Llandudno’s ill discipline saw two players needlessly dismissed and Guilsfield pressed their advantage in the closing stages but were denied an equaliser.
