A COLWYN Bay DJ has got the world of dance music in a spin after signing up to one of the biggest specialist record labels in the country.

Jay Robinson, 23, of Victoria Park, has signed up with the Instant Vibes record label, backed by top dance producer Krafty Kuts, and will now be producing remixes and tracks for the world famous DJ.

“Working with someone who is a legend in the UK scene is amazing, he’s one of the top producers of breakbeat, which is something I’ve always been interested in.

“It feels strange to be working with someone I’ve looked up to for so long.

“I’ll be producing some remixes for him, as well as doing some nights in London and travelling to Ibiza with his management team, and basically going on all the tours.

As well as signing up to produce records for the label, Jay has also had one of his tracks featured on the best selling Cream Ibiza 2011 compilation CD, after receiving the backing of another top UK DJ Laidback Luke.

“It was a track called Optimal Grime which I made about a year ago and was just hanging around, but Laidback Luke got hold of it and played it on his Radio One Essential Mix, and then chose to have it on his Cream CD,” Jay said.

“I’ve always wanted to be on a Cream CD since the first one I bought. It’s a real achievement for me.

Jay will be jetting off to Holland this weekend for another gig, before appearing at the Nozstock festival in Herefordshire alongside Toddla T.

He will also be travelling to Paris for another set, as well as working on a dubstep EP with Laidback Luke and producing some new tracks in time for next summer’s club scene.

“I want to get some big remixes out there, which I’m working on now.”
