AN arrest has been made following the suspected murder of an 18 year-old in Llanidloes on Saturday.
A 20 year-old man from Newtown remains in police custody tonight in connection with the death of Lewis Clarke, also from Newtown, following an incident in a flat in Plynlimon House, Long Bridge Street, Llanidloes just before noon on Saturday.
Mr Clarke died in Shrewsbury Hospital on Saturday evening after he had been airlifted to hospital following the incident.
A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow and the property remains cordoned off.
Police are currently appealing for witnesses to come forward.
DCI Shane Williams who is leading the investigation said: “Although we have made an arrest we are still keen to speak to anyone who has information that could help the investigation into the tragic death of this young person. We would especially like to speak to anyone who was in the flat yesterday morning.”
