A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a store in Machynlleth.

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police confirmed a 25-year-old man was arrested at approximately 8.35am on Friday, June 24, on suspicion of theft from the Co-operative store in Machynlleth and being in possession of cannabis - a class B drug.

A spokesperson from the Co-operative store said: "Two men entered our store and stole a large quantity of cosmetics products.

"Staff immediately alerted the police and a short time later the offendeds were caught.

"CCTV footage has been given to the police who are investigating this incident further."
