POWYS residents in and around the Machynlleth area are being invited to have their say on a draft plan about managing flood and erosion risk.

The West of Wales Shoreline Management Plan is a strategy covering 1,000km of coastline and estuary which includes areas around Cadfarch and Machynlleth.

The plan considers the immediate risks and how management of this risk can be developed in to the future in a sustainable manner, to ensure that this does not tie future generations to costly and unsustainable management.

A public exhibition will be held at Y Plas, Machynlleth on May 26 from 3pm-8pm where residents can find out more and have their say on the plan.

The Machynlleth event is part of a touring exhibition which takes in all affected areas on the West of Wales shoreline.

If you are unable to attend the event, or prefer to view the plans and comment online, visit www.westofwalessmp.org.

The areas relating to Powys are included under 'Coastal Area D'.
