Day 1
6.30pm - We finished the first leg of our journey when we arrived in Llanbadarn Fynydd. Our new Assembly Member Russell George dropped in on his way back from Cardiff to offer his support and more importantly a much needed Yorkie bar to keep the energy levels up!
It's been a great day. It was hot, definitely tiring and we've got a few sore feet between us but it's definitely worth it because the issue is so important!
Now it's just time to get some rest in preparation for another day's marching!
3pm - We've now been walking for six hours and the response has been excellent as we're working our way south through the county.
We're currently taking the small back-road between Newtown and Dolfor, to avoid quite so much traffic. The going is getting a little tougher as we're starting to climb an incline, whereas the going has been flat until now.
As we walked from Welshpool to Newtown the response from passers-by and motorists has been fantastic, plenty of people tooting their horns, and the staff from Control Techniques came out to greet us and wish us well as we entered Newtown.
It was a real morale boost and much appreciated.
We entered the town centre to spread the word and gathered pages of signatures for the petition.
We stopped for a complementary lunch at Evans' cafe which was lovely - a ham salad sandwich with no tomatoes (I hate tomatoes).
The temperature outside is perfect for walking, I'm just topping up my tan. Let's hope for good weather on Tuesday down in Cardiff.
Also the coverage in the County Times, the Shropshire Star and by the BBC has been excellent, let's keep this up.

12pm - Three hours after leaving Welshpool with the sound of cheering supporters ringing in our ears and we are just approaching Abermule, the site of some of the most focused opposition to National Grid's proposals.
At the moment I'm with 10 protestors and a spaniel as we make our way through the Mid Wales countryside.
The reaction so far has been really positive. People are tooting their horns as they drive past, people living on the roadside have been coming out of their houses giving us applause and congratulatory messages and even chocolate!
It's only three hours in but one thing's for certain - there's no way I should have played football on that hard pitch on Monday because my feet are feeling it!
