AN EAGLE eyed Welshpool resident took this sneaky snap a few nights ago, when he spotted a police van parked on double-yellows in the town centre.
The resident told the County Times he had seen an officer queueing inside the kebab shop (left), waiting for food while the van was parked just outside.

IT WAS a strange Monday morning at the good ship County Times.
Both news and sports desks received letters this week criticising the paper for everything from the sports coverage to photographs.
Seems even stranger that someone who had the time to write two separate letters did not have the decency to add his signature and address on either.
Seems just as strange that our sports editor Gavin Grosvenor was called “Graham Grosvenor” throughout one of the tirades which, ironically, was meant to criticise Gavin’s writing and grasp of English.
Gavin has his faults, many of them, but I do not think he has ever written a letter addressed to the wrong person and forgot to sign it!
Poor English. Maybe this is more a case of pot, kettle, black.

“I WOULDN’T buy a house here...” Those were the words of a woman who inherited her family house next door to the National Grid ‘Legacy’ substation just outside Wrexham, around 40 minutes drive from Abermule.
You can read more about the Wrexham plant on page seven.
How can such a monstrosity be inflicted on either Abermule or Cefn Coch?
I walked through Abermule last week and was struck by just how much the local residents are opposed to a substation being built there.
House after house and building after building had ‘No pylons’ or ‘No hub’ or ‘No windfarms’ posters. Feelings are just as strong in Cefn Coch, the other proposed site for a hub or substation.
What kind of society would inflict a substation on a community so opposed to it?
We must all protest and you can start by filling in the coupon on page seven, but you’ll need to get a move on.
We’ll make sure your comments get to the Assembly next Tuesday.
In addition, you could join the protest that will be making its way to the Assembly and details of how you can join this are on pages six and 24.
Top marks to our young chief reporter, Richard Jones, a local lad who feels so strongly about the issue that he’s putting his feelings into action.
He will walk all the way to Cardiff from Welshpool with Nick Larder to join the coachloads of protesters when they arrive.
I urge you to back the protest and go to Cardiff if you can and support our MP Glyn Davies and new Assembly Member Russell George as they battle these dreadful and very unpopular proposals.
