LLANIDLOES looked to the in form Dan Short to kick them to midweek derby glory at Machynlleth.
Having annihilated Bangor at Cae Hafren just days earlier, the visitors had a much tougher time against John Davies’ Machynlleth.
The hosts had looked set to complete a stunning victory after tries from full-back Steffan Price and No8 Dylan Llewellyn, with Iwan Jones adding a conversion.
However Llanidloes remained in contention at the interval with two penalties from fly-half Short.
After the break there were few openings for either side, before the spoils were secured by the able boot of Short who kicked three penalties for glory.
However the victory was not enough to secure a bonus point, which means the Division Two title was celebrated by Bala.
