Conservatives win Montgomeryshire seat

CONSERVATIVE candidate Russell George is the new Assembly Member for Montgomeryshire.

AM George took the Montgomeryshire seat from the Lib Dems.

The seat was won in 2007 by then Lib Dem candidate Mick Bates, who later left the party after being convicted for drunkenly attacking a paramedic.

Russell George (Conservative), 10,026

Wyn Williams (Liberal Democrat), 7,702

Nick Colbourne (Labour), 2,609

David Senior (Plaid Cymru), 2,596

    congratulations to Russell. 12,907 people that voted for other parties will be looking to you to see that you do right for this area.

    another interesting fact: The Montgomeryshire electorate consisting of 48,675 people means 38,649 people chose not to vote for his tales and spin.

    Sam, you appear to be one of those people who think that because you have a computer and access to the internet, you have become a) intelligent and b) remotely interesting to anyone else. Take your ill conceived and ridiculous observations somewhere else. Labour came 3rd because they had more votes than Plaid and Russell won because the majority of people who voted, did so for him. No go back to your jigsaw!

    I just finished my jigsaw, I'm pretty good at them. I can also count and realise that of the 22,933 that did vote only 10,026 voted for Russell. Which, of course, means 12,907 didn't vote for him. I was one of them. I hope he does well in his new post though and doesn't disappear like the last conservative you lot voted in. I also hope he does something about that nasal whiny voice of his and doesn't beat up anyone trying to help him!
