BANGOR CITY face a titantic title showdown with league leaders The New Saints to decide the 2011 Welsh Premier champions.
Citizens boss Nev Powell was in good spirits ahead of the clash at Farrar Road on Saturday (3.30pm), after two wins over Easter saw his move to within a point of TNS.
“We know the character we have got in this team, led by Jamie Brewerton,” he said.
“We're pretty confident that if we play the football we've played this season, then we will be champions at the end of Saturday,” he said.
Bangor earned six points from away trips to Port Talbot on Saturday and Neath on Monday, and Powell praised the fans' support throughout the season.
"They outnumbered the Neath fans on Monday, and the noise they made saw us through,” he said.
“It’s a boost to the players, and we need a massive crowd to push us on the victory on Saturday.”
A win would secure the Blues their first title win for 17 years, and they could add a third Welsh Cup in three years to their trophy haul.
Skipper James Brewerton might not feature as City await a ruling on their appeal against a five match suspension.
“It’s going to be a massive loss as he has led by example throughout the season, but we obviously hope that he will be available,” Powell said.
