NEWTOWN became the latest side to be swept aside by title chasing Dolgellau.
The visitors’ bright start soon faded as Dolgellau broke through inside centre Dylan Evans, with the ball recycled to wing Trystan Evans to open the scoring.
Newtown were punished again when full-back Huw Wilcox broke their defensive line to cross for a second try, before Newtown’s woes deepened with captain Rowan Meek hobbling off.
Dolgellau soon capitalised with a second try from wing Trystan Evans, with outside-half Gerwyn Thomas converting having missed his two earlier kicks.
The bonus point was secured as Thomas broke for a try, which he also converted, before wing Evans gathered a long kick from Wilcox to complete his hat-trick.
Dolgellau started the second-half like they ended the first, with Evans adding his fourth try.
Newtown were finally sparked into life and responded with a try from centre Greg Kiely, which fellow centre Matthew Jones converted to reduce the arrears.
Further tries from No8 Dewi Thomas, outside-half Thomas and a fifth try for wing Trystan Evans wrapped up the victory.
Newtown had the final say of the afternoon with No8 Nick Jones driven over by his fellow forwards, with Matthew Jones converting.
