POLICE are offering a £5,000 reward to anyone with information about the Welshpool robbery attempt which took place in December.

Dyfed-Powys Police are still investigating the attempted robbery at the County Goldsmiths in Welshpool town centre.

The incident occurred just before 5pm on Wednesday, December 1, when three masked men entered the Goldsmiths on Church Street.

They confronted the owner and sprayed him with some kind of incapacitant.

However, the owner was able to fight off the attackers and it is likely that one of the men received bruising or cuts to his face or head area.

The attackers were forced to flee empty handed. All three men were dressed in black clothing with some form of hood or scarf over their faces.

Police have carried out searches in the surrounding streets and have been visiting local residents in a search for further information.

Dyfed-Powys Police is now offering a reward of £5,000 to any person giving information to the police leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.

If you have information, contact Welshpool CID on the non-emergency number 101.
