FUNDRAISERS in Llandrindod Wells will don their trainers on March 30 to Walk for Life, raising vital life-saving funds for the Kidney Wales Foundation.
Kind-hearted supporters in the town have organised the walk to raise money to help those affected by kidney failure.

Kidney Wales Foundation supporter and popular singer, Katherine Jenkins, said: "I think it's amazing that so many people get invo
lved every year with the walks.

"The great thing about them is that they're open to everyone and you don't need to keep fit to take part. Just by raising a small amount of money you'll be sending a huge message of hope and support to those who suffer with kidney failure – both young and old."

Last year fundraisers from Powys helped raise £80,000 to support vital kidney services at the University Hospital for Wales.

Since then more than £30,000 has been donated by the charity to the University Hospital of Wales' Children's Kidney Unit, which cares for patients across Wales. The Institute of Nephrology has also received funding to help support its research programme based at the hospital. This year the charity hopes to raise £100,000.

Roy J Thomas, chairman of the Kidney Wales Foundation, said: "Our Walk for Life events raise important funds to help families and we would like to thank all those who have organised a walk in their community.
"Their hard work and support is greatly appreciated."
