THE country's first outdoor gym has been installed in Radnorshire.

The Rock Park Trim Trail Gym in Llandrindod Wells was officially opened yesterday (Thursday), thanks to a grant of over £25,000 from the Sports Council for Wales.

Consisting of a start point as a warm up area, the trim trail has information boards showing the route and a health notice.

As you walk or run along the route, there are six further activities to use which will provide a fully body workout after completing the trail. The Trim Trail will be for all ages and physical abilities and is free to use.

Outdoor gyms consist of weatherproof, low maintenance workout equipment that can be installed in public places such as parks.

Their key strength is that the equipment supplied will be available to use, meaning those who would not normally have access to gym facilities for economic reasons can enjoy outdoor gyms.

The gym has been installed by Powys County Council's Outdoor Recreation Services, with the equipment purchased from HAGS Play Ltd.
