* ”NO PLACE LIFE ROME”, Llanfair Players’ 2011 production on stage at LLANFAIR CAEREINION Institute tonight Friday and Saturday, February 26 (above). Written by local playwright Clive Hopwood, it tells the tale of local Celts resisting Roman attempts to turn Llanfair into a Costa Caereinion holiday resort.
* ”OLD KING LEER & HIS UGLY DAUGHTERS”, New Dyfi Players in pantomime production of the story of King Lear including the villain Edmund and a chorus of Druidettes, at Ysgol Bro Dyfi, MACHYNLLETH tonight and at 2 and 7pm on Saturday, February 26.
* MUSEUM OF MODERN ART WALES, exhibitions at the MACHYNLLETH gallery comprise work by Julie Jones on show to March 5; Susan J. Adams “There Are Receivers in the Woods” is on to March 19; and new exhibition by Daniel Robertson is on to March 26.

* ORIEL DAVIES GALLERY, new exhibition at the NEWTOWN venue features “Fables from a New World: the life and times of T. H. Thomas, As Imagined by Jennie Savage” on to April 6, Thomas was a 19th century private collector and illustrator, whose collections were donated to the National Museum of Wales in 1915. This exciting commission is an installation of sound and labyrinthine spaces.

* CONSTABLE JONES’ JOURNAL”, humourous and sometimes moving fictional account of local policeman at the time of the establishment of the Montgomeryshire Constabulary in 1841. Drunkenness, theft and even murder are presented in new Montgomeryshire Youth Theatre production in the round at Theatr Clera, WELSHPOOL tonight and on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, February 27.
