THEATRE Severn has revealed further details of its forthcoming autumn programme. A host of events for October and early November have been confirmed and tickets go on general sale from 10am on Friday.
The announcement features Dreamboats & Petticoats, the smash hit West End sensation, and much loved family musical Annie, starring the hilarious Su Pollard as the dastardly Miss Hannigan.
These popular musicals are complemented by an exciting dance programme, which includes Swan Lake, performed by the Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet, emotive contemporary dance from Sanpapié, the inspirational Kathakali Dance Company and the dynamic Jaleo Flamenco. In November, students of the Viv Kelly School of Dance take to the stage for One Night Only and Born To Dance.
Harold Pinter’s tragic comedy The Caretaker will be performed by London Classic Theatre and there is a updated version of a Bertolt Brecht classic comedy as The Good Person of Trenchtown makes its world premiere at Theatre Severn.
Meanwhile, local theatre company Mad Cow Productions return with the farcical comedy, Move Over Mrs Markham.
Legendary entertainers Joe Brown and Joe Longthorne have also been confirmed and The Christians, Oysterband and Megson have been added to a busy music programme.
There are welcome returns too, for the City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Armonico Consort as they present Monteverdi’s Flying Circus.
Other highlights include the mountaineering comedian Andy Kirkpatrick and psychic Colin Fry.
Theatre Severn’s marketing manager, Jackson Cummings told us "We’re delighted to confirm another host of shows for the coming season.
"Look out for the full autumn programme in our forthcoming brochure, which will be released in late August."
Tickets can be booked through the box office at Theatre Severn on 01743 281281 or at the Old Market Hall in The Square, Shrewsbury or by going online at www.theatresevern.co.uk, where you can view full event listings and book your seats.
