MUSIC and laughter filled Montgomery on Saturday as over 1,500 people came to bask in the sunshine at the annual Street Fair.

With a packed line-up of performances keeping revellers entertained, the celebrations continued all day and well into the evening with something for all the family.

Sue Blower, Montgomery Town Crier, said: “It was a fantastic turnout, the best we have had in years, partly down to the wonderful weather that we had.

“There were 30-plus stalls selling all kinds of craft and food. We had a beautiful cheese stall all the way from Pembrokeshire, and lots on offer from Taste Montgomery, like Monty Cider, Kerry Vineyard and the Dragon Hotel. The catering van was busy all day and right into the evening.”

With stalls, an ice cream van and face painting on the street, there was also plenty to do indoors with a range of activities and children’s games.

“Some big highlights were Sally Gartell’s Dance Academy, they had a wonderful display, and Peta Piper’s Atom of Sound, from Bishops Castle.

“The committee is very small but they work so well together to make it the success it was. It is also down to the people of the town who are so accommodating.”
