The first major event for the Builth Male Voice Choir - in this, its 50th year – will be the customary St David’s Day Concert to be held on Friday, February 23.
Starring with the local choristers will be the acapella folk group Sorela – three sisters from Aberystwth who perform a hugely eclectic repertoire ranging from 90s pop hits such as 'Be My Baby' to haunting Celtic tunes. Formed by Lisa Angharad and her two sisters in 2014 the trio always offer an unpredictable but highly polished performance.
Also appearing will be the Builth Wells Primary School Choir and the concert will be performed in aid of the Brecon Mountain Rescue charity.
The venue for the concert is the Strand Hall, Builth Wells, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 each and obtainable from 01982 552922 or 0793 8833264, via www.WeGotTickets.com or from members of the choir.
