THIS week’s trip down Memory Lane features a photograph that appeared on the front page of the County Times over 40 years ago.
The photograph was sent in by reader Avril Griffiths whose twin niece and nephew, Paula Holley and Daryl Haynes, are pictured ‘tucking into’ some Easter eggs.
It was taken by one of the paper’s photographers at the time, the late Ireta Richards, who turned up with Easter Eggs as props for her to take the photo.
But Avril remembers the experience not being such a positive one for all involved.
“When she left, she took the eggs with her, leaving the parents to face the consequences! Obviously, Rita wasn't aware of the phrase ‘like taking candy from a baby’!”
